Promoting and increasing awareness of beekeeping and honey bees.

There are currently no plans to have an open meeting in December.

Non members are recommended to contact Steve Fearn (via the contacts page) before as the programme may change at short notice due to circumstances beyond our control but the theme will always be Bee related and hopefully related to time of year.

Tuesday November 28th 
Sean Sparling the Agronomist was unable to attend.  It is hoped to reschedule in 2018.  Simon Croson stepped in and showed us slides and videos from his visit to Nepal, where he met a variety of beekeepers and was able to film all four of the native honey bee species.

Our Seasonal Bee inspector, Paul Horton, gave a very knowledgeable talk on Asian Hornets including the detection and destruction of the nest in Tetbury in Gloucestershire and other bee health topics.  Many thanks Paul for you work and support.

Wednesday 29th of March
Topics up for discussion include swarm control and first inspections.
Also our junior member will be receiving his Lesley Thorne Award, for being the most improved young beekeeper in Lincolnshire.
Finally, members who have one can bring along their refractometers, to compare readings using the same honey.
